Friday Childrens Class Newsletter July 2017.
As the end of term is drawing near, just to let you know of a few dates and events to look forward to in the new term in September.
Charity Event – Sunday 10th September
In response to the two recent terrible events of the Manchester Terror attack and the Grenfell Tower block tragedy in which children were involved, we felt for our charity event this year we would raise funds for the Wave 105fm Cash for Kids. Therefore, we are planning to hold a sponsored Tea Dance on Sunday 10th September 2.30pm-4.30pm at St James Hall. We will have a practice session on Friday 8th September from 4.30pm-6.30pm for all those children able to take part in the Fund-raising Event to rehearse for a short showcase whilst tea is being served. Tickets are available. Price £4.00 per person for spectators.
Friendly Competition – Sunday 15th October
Rhythm and Dance will be holding another friendly competition on Sunday 15th October at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Wimbourne. Earlier in the year four children took part in the fun competition (see notice board) so it would be great if we could have a few more entries this time. Tickets usually £10.00. In readiness for the competition and medals please make use of the private lesson times available and if not suitable for Thursday then we do have space on Saturdays and Tuesdays. During the holiday, daytime is also available on these days and Friday evening. Please ask. Continued training is better then a last minute panic. Even for the adult and child!
Medal Day – Sunday 19th November
Don’t forget we now have a Tiny Tots class on Friday 4.00pm-4.20pm £3.00. A really good introduction to all styles of dance and fun. Even the teachers want to play with the maracas and flashing tambourines!
The Monthly Challenge has been encouraging and everyone has produced excellent work throughout the year with successful results again in the last medal test.
The last Friday this term will be 14th July and starting again on Friday 8th September 4.30pm-6.00pm for a practice for the Charity Event and CLASSES Friday 15th September.
Thank you to everyone for their continued support and help in classes from older girls. We wish you all a Happy Summer Holiday and look forward to seeing you all again in September.
