During 2017 Adeline Dance continued their success with ISTD examinations in social and amateur grades in the ballroom, Latin American, sequence, disco, Argentine tango and rock and roll style of Dance with all candidates passing with high marks and grades Using these achievements the children and several adults took part in local and national competitions including venues at Gosport and Wimbourne.

As well as activities for our keen dancers, our social pupils found their classes rewarding with complimentary comments made from fellow passengers on cruise ships and on holiday. Several new pupils joined us who also expressed their enjoyment of a new found hobby and wondered why they never started dancing before! It now seems dancing is acclaimed to be the best form of exercise so we hopefully look forward to a resurgence of dancing in the ballroom.

In November we again held the annual professional workshop on the selected sequence dances used for the forthcoming sequence competitions. Several local teachers attended and we were coached by the Sequence Faculty Chairman, Miss Jill Bush from Shoeburyness.

Terry continued his work for the ISTD with examining and judging appointments at several venues around the country.

We held several parties including our Christmas party, complete with Santa, and a successful fund raising event for Cash For Kids, raising over £200.00.

None of our events would have been possible without our dedicated team of helpers and qualified teachers and our special thanks go to Mary, Sue, Serena, Melissa and Jackie. We look forward to another year of fun and success in conjunction with St James Institute.
